1 month later,
I am FINALLY giving you a review on the restaurant that I went to for my birthday.
Keith wanted to take me out for dinner, but a place was not chosen… so we headed to downtown San Mateo to find a place because there are all sorts and we thought this would be a great time choose a new one.
We drove up and down the few “down town” streets until we found one that caught our eye and at this point, I was just hungry and didn’t really have a preference.
We drove past what is called “The clay oven” and it looked interested and I looked it up and it looked yummy so we went.
We looked all over the menu and since we are both pretty new to indian food, we just went with this Clay Oven for two. We thought, what the heck, this way we can try all sorts of things at once. 🙂
… at this point, our naan basket came out filled up with 3 different types of bread, onion, garlic, and plain. It was a TON of bread that we took most of home… but well worth it.
From here on out, our food just slowly kept coming out and I Loved it! We were able to enjoy each part without feeling rushed. I LOVE tikka masala!
First, we got some Samosas for the start of our meal… SOOO GOOD!
…paneer, and tikka masala with sauce and rice… and more naan…
We also had a plate with chicken and lamb on it… (couldn’t get a good picture)
Picture of my plate.. 🙂 I am drooling just thinking back!
.. to end our meal we had some kheer…whic his a cream rice pudding… and yes, those are pistachios on top! 🙂 Love me some pudding and pistachios. 🙂
Overall, great portions, AMAZING flavor, fresh items, great temperature, nice ambiance, great service! 🙂
Five stars from me 🙂
Happy Monday Everyone.
